When You Tell Everyone, It’s A Commitment

April 20, 2014

Blogging

Although I am travelling this month and have intermittent internet connection, I still have plenty of time to write and think about what I want to do with this blog and how to improve it. That’s why I am participating in the Blogging 201 challenge on WordPress, which is focussed on branding and traffic. I just got off of a week of being completely unplugged, so I’ll be catching up on the first five days of the challenge over the next few days.

The first challenge is to set three goals for your blog. When you tell everyone your goals, it becomes a commitment. So, here it goes:

  1. By May 1, create an editorial calendar for May, June and July to ensure I publish content at least twice a week.
  2. Finally write an article for Projects At Work by the end of July. Bonus: contribute similarly to a career or leadership blog or magazine.
  3. Guest post on a video game blog (which doubles as a work-related goal).

Wish me luck!

About Liza Wood

After a dozen years leading video game development projects in a variety of roles, I decided to pursue a Master of Data Science at the University of British Columbia. Studying data science doesn’t mean I’m moving away from leading people. Growing data science teams need collaborative, pragmatic, Agile leadership to connect data to all areas of the business. I would like to share that point of view, along with my experiences, on this blog.
