Yay! Bloggiesta Is Back!

Blogging

PEDRO

I was so excited to see Bloggiesta be planned for the weekend of March 30 – April 1!  I participated in the event in January 2011 and have been (im)patiently waiting for the next one.  Well, now everyone knows what I will be doing that weekend.

What is Bloggiesta, you ask?  From There’s A Book blog (one of this year’s hosts): it’s a blogging marathon devoted to ticking off items on your to-do list and improving your blog while in the good company of other awesome bloggers doing the same thing.   Started by Natasha of Maw Books Blog, I discovered it when WordPress featured a blog about the event on the Freshly Pressed page.  Even though the event is open to all bloggers, many of the participants are book bloggers who I discovered are a wonderful community to learn and share ideas about writing and blogging.   The event even has its own mascot, Pedro (Plan. Edit. Develop. Review. Organize).  Mexican-themed food and drinks are optional but can be an added bonus to the event 🙂

Mini-challenges are part of the event.  I signed up to host a mini-challenge.  Fingers crossed that I’m chosen!

If you want to join in the fun, you can sign up here.

In the meantime, I will start thinking about my to-do list for the weekend.  There are quite a number of improvements to this blog and my personal blog that I’m thinking about…

Stay tuned!

About Liza Wood

After a dozen years leading video game development projects in a variety of roles, I decided to pursue a Master of Data Science at the University of British Columbia. Studying data science doesn’t mean I’m moving away from leading people. Growing data science teams need collaborative, pragmatic, Agile leadership to connect data to all areas of the business. I would like to share that point of view, along with my experiences, on this blog.

How wonderful that you discovered the event via WordPress! I never even knew it had been highlighted, but I’m glad it was! And I’m glad you’ll be joining us!

We’ll be getting back to everyone about the challenges hopefully in the next week. So you should be hearing from us very soon! 🙂

Actually, it was last year’s Bloggiesta that I discovered via WordPress. This year, I just stalked the #Bloggiesta hastag on Twitter, waiting for the announcement 🙂

Hey there!I enjoy Bloggiesta but am usually too late to join. This year, I’m puleld in too many directions to even try it. Seeing your list and your dedication to you blog does remind me that I’ve got to do better. I think I’ll have to start dedicating specific time to it each week, and to reading my YA books!!
